DESCRIPTION:Join the Oregon Marine Reserves Partnership on July 22nd at 6pm for a virtual information session to learn about the Oregon Marine Reserves & MPAs BioBlitz! We will go over what a BioBlitz is\, how to participate\, and why community science is important for conserving Oregon’s coastal ecosystems. \nNo scientific experience is required\, just curiosity and a willingness to explore. This August\, we are having a month-long celebration of Oregon’s Marine Reserves and Marine Protected Areas (MPAs)! You can celebrate with us by participating in our BioBlitz: visit one of Oregon’s five marine reserves or adjacent MPAs\, take pictures of the organisms you see\, and upload it to our iNaturalist project! \nRegister here.

Starting on Worldwide Marine Protected Areas Day on August 1st\, we invite you to participate in a BioBlitz across Oregon’s five marine reserves and marine protected areas. From the rugged cliffs of Cape Falcon in the north to the dramatic islands of Redfish Rocks in the south\, Oregon’s five marine reserves are areas dedicated to conservation and scientific research. These “no-take” zones serve as vital sanctuaries for marine life and you are invited to explore and document the creatures that call these special places home. No scientific experience is required\, just a smart phone\, the iNaturalist app\, curiosity\, and a willingness to explore!  \nJoin the BioBlitz here\, visit Oregon’s marine reserves or adjacent marine protected areas\, upload pictures of the organisms you see!
